End-of-life doula care

No one should have to walk the last stretch of the road alone.

At Marzanna’s Passage, we walk alongside the dying and those who love them through life’s final threshold. Rooted in ancestral wisdom and compassionate presence, our mission is to honor death not as an ending to be feared, but as a passage to be witnessed with reverence, care, and grace.

Who we are

Two people, one lantern.

At Marzanna’s Passage, we honor the profound journey of life and death, guiding those who are transitioning with care, compassion, and reverence. Our name is inspired by Marzanna, a figure from Slavic lore who embodies the natural cycles of life, death, and rebirth.

Marzanna is often known as the patron of winter, death, and transformation. While her name may initially evoke endings, her story is deeply intertwined with renewal. In Slavic tradition, she was honored as a guide who helped souls pass safely from the physical world, offering protection, comfort, and wisdom during life’s most challenging transitions. By embracing her guidance, communities celebrated the inevitability of endings while also recognizing the seeds of new beginnings.

Like Marzanna, we are here to support you in this life and after. As death doulas, our role is to walk beside individuals and their families during the final stages of life. We provide emotional, spiritual, and practical guidance, helping people face mortality with dignity and peace. Our work is about creating safe spaces for reflection, honoring personal rituals, and offering gentle support for both the person passing and those who remain.

The name Marzanna’s Passage reflects our commitment to the sacred cycle of life and death. We believe that just as Marzanna guided souls with care, we too can help people navigate the threshold between life and what comes next—transforming fear and uncertainty into understanding, comfort, and grace.

“We cannot fix it. We can ease the burden.”

How we help

Practical hands, unhurried hours.

Planning & Presence

We sit down early — over tea, at your kitchen table — to talk through wishes, fears, paperwork, and how you want these days to feel.

Vigil & Bedside Care

In the final days we keep watch beside you and provide small comforts — a favorite song playing low, a cool cloth, a hand to hold, lamplight kept soft. Someone awake at 3am so the family can rest.

Legacy Work

Recorded stories, letters to grandchildren, a recipe written in a familiar hand. Whatever a person wants to leave behind, we help make it.

After & Grief Support

Home funeral guidance, help with rituals, and the long unhurried months after — because grief does not keep to a schedule.

We are not medical providers and never replace your hospice or care team — we work beside them, holding the parts that clinical care has no time for. Sliding scale always available; no family is turned away.
